Another month closer to the wedding… only fourteen months to go at this point!!
This evening Matt and I signed the paperwork and put a deposit on where we’re going to hold the reception. I can’t wait for the guests to see it. Its on the top of a mountain, right beside a bed and breakfast. The actual facility is three rooms large (not including where the caterers will be). The main part of the hall is done all in wood, so it has a country feeling, but still very classy. Oh.. I can’t wait!
I know that some people may be worried about the location and it being winter at that point., Let me just say that I was concerned about that as well, but for one thing, the weather doesn’t start getting TOO bad until January here in Blacksburg. Another thing is that there is an emergency plan, just in case there comes a bad storm DURING the reception. The owners of the property have a four wheel drive vehicle and has said that they would help transport people back to town.
Still, I know some people see this situation as not the ideal, but I think that many of you will be pleasantly surprised. I’ve fallen in love with the location and I think that it will be an evening to be able to sit back and enjoy ourselves!
So, a couple of the big things have been figured out (we have the chapel, and we have the reception hall), and we’re pursuing some other areas so that we have time to make decisions and not get gouged on prices.
Still no dress as of right now, but I was able to go shopping with my Sister-In-Law and tried on a few very beautiful dresses.

So, no more waiting until after February to set a date… Matt went to the chapel and they were able to confirm a date this past week. DECEMBER 20, 2008!!! :0)
I’m very, VERY excited about this date. Not only is it my birthday, but the colors that we’ll be using, the feel of everything. *sighs* its just perfect!
Favors and centerpieces will also be fun and festive, which is always a plus. This also opens up options for the dress, Mary’s dress and such.
Its actually setting in that all of this is happening… and I couldn’t be happier!!!!

Well, here it is the last day of the month and I’m just now getting to update some things. Better late than never, I guess! Not much has gone one in ways of wedding plans this month (trying to get settled at the new job, adjusting to "adult" life and such). In October a couple of things will be going on, but still no hefty plans. Things will really catch momentum come February when we can confirm a date with the chapel (football schedule will dictate what date we can have… funny, huh?).
Tomorrow Matt and I will be talking to one of the owners of a bed and breakfast in the area about reception things (pricing and such), so that will be interesting and informative, I hope!
I’m still looking in to dresses, to which I’ve pretty much ruled out ordering one from online.
